My appointment with Dr Lowman was probably the best Drs appt Ive ever had. Her kind bedside manor, care, professionalism and knowledge really helped me understand my body and other health related concenss. Also she was soooooo relatable and that made me so comfortable. I really appreciate the service she provides for our community because its so needed!
I just love Dr. Lowman. She’s such an awesome doctor. Her personality is so awesome and so true and down to earth. I would recommend her to anybody. She did my surgery and she done it so well.I love her and I hope I can continue coming to her.❤️🥰
I absolutely love this place!! Dr. Lowman and her entire staff is so nice and caring. Even when they call to tell me about a balance due, theyre are so kind and understanding!! When I first spoke with Dr. Lowman she gave me all my options and LISTENED to me!! I had a Vaginal Hysterectomy and the recovery time and pain was at minimum. Never heard of it before but now I suggest every woman to look into this (if thats for you).
Dr. Lowman is AMAZING! It is a very personal experience at Buckhead Urogynecology. Dr. Lowman was very engaged and treated me like a real patient and not just another person in her system, which seems so rare to find these days. I love that she is a one woman practice; you can tell that she is passionate about her practice and her patients. She was thoughtful, patient and informative during my appointment. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for a urogyn.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, Ill openly say Joye Lowman and her amazing staff at Buckhead Urogynocology saved my life. I had suffered for nearly a decade with pelvic floor weakness, incontinence, lower back pain, and a dwindling connection to my body. By the time I ventured into the practice, I was settling into a sedentary lifestyle, feeling like I was in the body of a much older person, and dealing with legitimate mental health issues over my condition. I immediately felt validated and supported in a way Id not experienced before and Dr. Lowman gently reassured me that she could offer me a better quality of life and a more enjoyable life, in general. I am now 6 weeks post-op and I can say without any question that not only did she deliver on her promises, but I was carried through the entire process with compassion and genuine care. My life is nothing short of transformed. I feel so much lighter in my body, so much more connected to my core, so much more capable and comfortable to play with my kids, go for a jog, dance and laugh and LIVE. Im only now embarking on this new version of me, but for the first time in many years, Im excited about my body and I feel I have been liberated from the restrictions I had felt resigned to. I owe so much of my future to Dr. Lowman and Im incredibly grateful for her!
My surgical experience with Dr. Lowman could not have gone better. I had a lot of trepidation about the surgery but Dr. Lowmansconfidence, knowledge, patience and bedside manner were reassuring. Her surgical expertise resulted in an easy recovery with very minimal discomfort. Shes the best!
Dr. Lowman is an incredible person who went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Very grateful to her. She is incredible, just read her website bio on what she has accomplished professionally and then go see her. You wont regret it!
My visit at Buckhead Urogynecology was pleasant and swift. She was very thorough and thoughtful throughout the questioning process. However, it was after my departure from my appointment that the demeanor changed. The receptionist at the front desk called and informed me about an exceedingly large payment that was not only 3 hours after my appointment was concluded, but was also incorrect and invalid information. Her approach regarding my concerns pertaining to the purpose of the call was extremely rude. As a result, I had to make an evasive decision and return to the facility to discuss the matter as to what I was being charged for, and to better understand why this information was not shared with me upon departing after my appointment. This matter was utterly disturbing and I would like for others to be ensured that a situation like this does not happen again.
I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Lowman. I had a vaginal hysterectomy today and my procedure went well. Dr. Lowman saw me before surgery and calmed my nerves. She has excellent bedside manner. Her level of care is impeccable. She kept my loved ones informed. Her office staff is great as well. Every time I called they were responsive and answered my questions. My in person office visit was also great. I highly recommend. 10/10
I was referred to Dr. Lowman and boy am I glad I was!! I was able to get an appointment quickly. My surgery was scheduled quick as well. Dr. Lowman has a very warm personality. She listened to my needs and did not dismiss any concerns I had. She allowed me to make decisions that was best for me while offering her expert advice as well. I felt safe with Dr. Lowman. My surgery went very well. I had almost no pain the next day. I highly recommend Dr. Lowman and her wonderful staff. You will not be disappointed!!
The thought of going to a urogynecologist made me nervous upfront, but my fears were somewhat relieved when I made the initial appointment to see Dr Joye. The young lady taking my information was very helpful, patient, sincerely empathetic, positive, and reassuring. Then when I finally got to the office, I was welcomed by a receptive staff making the whole experience pleasant. What can I say about the beautiful Dr Joye! I was very impressed by her professionalism and transparency during the exam, giving me information throughout, letting me know what she was doing and what was coming next, showing me the pictures to help with my understanding, offering options and suggested next steps. Oh, I forgot to mention the warmed patient office. Big Plus!! Overall, a Great experience! Yes! I would totally recommend Dr Joye and her staff.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! If you have any gynecological issues whatsoever, Dr Joye is who you want to see. Her hands are BLESSED. She is thorough, careful and extremely knowledgeable. She did my procedure and I have ZERO pain. I can’t say enough great things about her or the ladies in her practice. The care and the experience are unmatched. Go see her TODAY!
Dr. Lowman is so friendly and kind. She is down to earth and very knowledgeable. We love her and her staff.
I have the utmost trust in the care I receive from Dr. Lowman. Seeing her is well worth the drive and time put in. Nicole at the Front Desk is courteous and a real asset to the office. Making appointments to receiving information, Nicole is kind and helpful. I highly recommend this practice.
Love Dr. Lowman. She is so kind and personal while maintaining professionalism. I highly recommend her.
I was nervous about having my surgery because I have never had any major surgery before. Dr. Lowman made me feel very comfortable about this whole process. She was there to answer any questions that I had before the surgery and after. She understood my nervousness and concerns but she reassured that I would be fine and feel like a better woman! She was right! This was the best experience that a patient could ever have with Dr. Lowman and her staff. I would definitely recommend her!!
Dr Lowman is absolutely AMAZING! I felt so fortunate to have found such a Doctor. She not only made me feel confident in her abilities but gave me a peace of mind re: the procedure that I did need/took time to explain and answer all of my questions. I did see another Doctor prior to Dr Lowman who treated my needs with such flippancy that I actually prolonged getting the procedure for two years…Thank you Dr Lowman for all of your professionalism and care and your greatly appreciated gentle bedside manner…
Dr Lowman gave me back my womanhood.I had a rectocele and enterocoele repair , she reccomended mesh for the repair and I am glad she did! I am a BB and I needed the extra support.I didn’t realize how bad my rectocele and enterocoele were until she repaired them. I now no longer have constant pressure in my vagina and I can use the bathroom like a normal woman. On top of that she repaired my vaginal wall and stitched me up like a new woman. I finally feel beautiful again. Thank you Dr lowman for giving me back my womanhood!
It is well!!! Just how I felt meeting Dr Joye Lowman. She is a skillful Urogynecologist in Atlanta, GA with a longing for females to get out from under an undesirable situation causing them discomfort. Her surgical procedure has helped me feel better. She is a good choice when deciding who will give the best of their service in meeting your gynecological needs. Choose Dr. Lowman you will be satisfied!!!
My experience with Dr. Lowman has been top tier from the initial meeting/consultation. I have a very high expectation when it comes to my healthcare and the relationship with a doctor. Dr. Lowman and her staff checked all the boxes for me. Very knowledgeable, professional with an EXCELLENT bedside manor. All these components matter to me. I have and will continue to refer my family and friends to her office. Finding good doctors matters.
I had been to several doctors and specialists and could not resolve my health issue. I found Dr Lowman online and booked an appt. She was so kind, listened to my history and my issue was resolved. Her bedside manner was excellent, I felt very heard and taken care of. So glad I found her!
Dr. Lowman has an awesome bedside manner. She took her time to explain to me about my conditions. She also answered the questions again via email on the same day that I sent the email. She then reached back out to me the next day when I hadn’t replied to her. She is an absolute joy and blessing! I felt like I was talking to an old friend which I have never had before with a doctor. Go see her you will not be disappointed!
Dr. Lowman is a fantastic! She is very considerate of her patients; taking time to sit down and understand the issue. I had a story to tell her and she was very patient with the lengthy explanation of my issue. She was very thorough while helping to assess my health issues and gave very good advice. I love her bedside manor. She is very warm and friendly and very knowledgeable about her craft! I really am glad I found her and I will get all my care from her going forward!
I would like to sincerely thank Dr. Joye K. Lowman for her exceptional bedside manners, kindness, and warm and compassionate professionalism. Prior to my surgery, I had a consultation appointment that resulted in the recommendation for surgery. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Lowman assured me I was in safe hands, and I knew immediately I was at the right place.Dr. Lowman met with me prior to going into surgery. I was extremely nervous about having surgery. Before Dr. Lowman exited the room, she enveloped me with a warm caring hug, giving confirmation that I was in safe hands. Such wonderful kindness! At the completion of the surgery, I felt no pain after the surgery and my recovery is going extremely well.Dr. Lowman personally called to provide the prognosis of the surgery and needless to say, due to the proactiveness of Dr. Lowman, my results were favorable.I am absolutely and extremely pleased with the care received by Dr. Lowman. Kudos to Dr. Lowman!!!
Dr. Lowman is the greatest! She is professional, caring and was able to resolve a prolapse problem that had been plaguing me for years. She explained my options and I was able to move forward with surgery with confidence. Before surgery I could not empty my bladder completely not to mention the prolapse protruding from my body (told my Husband that I know what it must feel like to have balls). The surgery went well and I am extinctic with the results. Dr. Lowman listens and takes the time to address your issues. Wish I had known of her years ago!!
Dr. Lowman is amazing. Aside from her being knowledgeable, the warmth of her bedside manners is so comforting. I have a cyst that several doctors are not able to diagnose with certainty but Dr. Lowman was not only certain but patient as she answered my many questions. I would recommend her 1000%.
I was recd by a previous doctor who was unfortunately retiring from practice, years prior performed surgery for endometriosis behind the uterus on the wall & it was wrapped around my colon. this is after an initial incident from internal bleeding with a small bowel obstruction. I was advised then the disease is a reoccurring one & I would see symptoms around the same time later. as predicted, I did in fact have issues again & they were worse. Unfortunately, after numerous trials of hormone therapy failed, I was told I cannot help you, you need surgery thats your only option. this is who I recommend. after much research, as I am hesitant with medical being a frequent flyer amongst the field for other issues, I gave my referral a chance & the initial visit things went smoothly. I was excited!Getting an appt was simple and quick. Lowman was adamant to go ahead & get the surgery scheduled. I was set for a total hysto to rid of adenomyosis and the endo, with some cysts on my ovaries. I was booked instantly. I was beyond ecstatic to finally be rid of this burden. My preop went okay. I had to reiterate my concerns to make sure all of the endo was gone because I had history of it hiding in the weirdest places. at my visit we confirmed to stay the night after surgery to make sure all was well. A week later was my actual surgery...At check in, I told the front desk to have on file I were to stay after. They said okay. I also told them my wake up name to be my middle name, since I do not go by my first name, they said okay. I was brought back instantly. My nurses that morning were incredible. I confirmed with them about staying the night and the male nurse I had put in bold my wake up my name. Got into the room, met the team, and next thing Im out...Post op, a new nurse woke me up, I remember clearly in my face loudly yelling my first name when it was clear to not call me that. I kept asking to speak with Doc about how things went and all of the endo gone, they also were prepping discharge for me when we all said no, I was staying that was confirmed. somehow the staff for Docs didnt notate that. finally had that approved. I get to the room. that next morning, I was informed Doc would be in to see me as drs were walking the halls. never saw her. I kept asking & kept being told she would come in. this happened for about 3 hours. I waited, early afternoon I kept getting idks. finally decided to call the office to figure out what was going on. the staff literally said oh, you are there? we didnt know. they got Doc on the line & she tells me she was too busy with clients to do a checkup with her patients that stayed overnight.. & how there are no traces of endo nor adeno & everything went well. that was unsettling to me, as I was informed it always comes back. and how I felt forgotten as a patient.moving forward through the last few weeks... I have been using the patient portal to communicate with my concerns. sometimes it takes multiple messages & then a follow up phone call. my post op visit left me confused as my test results & the verbal consult didnt seem to match up. but everything was gone so I guess its moot now. I was told 2 more weeks for my cuff suture to heal. (I tried messaging after my visit since I forgot about taking baths but my response was in a way she hasnt seen me yet 10 days after my message...) I am having prolong constipation that Ive been told would relieve itself after remedies. I was told it wasnt somehow related. It is now 8 days I respond along with my concerns with increase head numbness & brain fog that is a good chance that is related. I called yesterday & doc was in surgery, the NP messages me once, not really answering my questions. I responded and I still have not heard from anyone. along with a delay on my disability claim because a Rec. was let go and never submitted my paperwork until I had to call back a day before going back to work...I really want to like this practice... but the communication barrier is making that difficult. especially when it is vital concerns...
Indeed, Dr. Lowman is professional, kind, knowledgeable and everything a patient looks for in medical care. Dr. Lowman was here for me at this critical stage of my womanhood. She performed hysterectomy surgery and prolapse repair on me. During my last visit to her office before my surgery Dr. Lowman said that they were going to take good care of me. I responded that I believed her. Many women are adverse to the idea of hysterectomy. For me this is another rest stop on my journey of womanhood. I was excited to see the beginning of my cycle at 12 years old. Wednesday January 4, 2023 I was also excited to have removed from my body organs no longer necessary. Being a woman at any age is a wonderful thing and I am grateful that Dr. Lowman and her team has given me support that is medical and also spiritual in nature because wellness is holistic care. As I recover with almost no pain, requiring no medication, I enjoy the fact that after having had six babies with my now deceased husband I am moving forward having done a major thing for Halimah. This hysterectomy was for ME. Thank you Dr. Lowman and also your fine team.
Dr. Jpye K. Lowman is not only an incredible surgeon with outstanding credentials, She has encouraging bedside manner that put me at ease. I just had surgery with her yesterday and today I feel minimal pain. She came highly recommended from my Obi-Gyn’s office and everywhere I went in Piedmont Hospital the staff all knew of her stellar reputation, and were singing her praises! I highly recommend Dr. Lowman.
Dr. lowman did my hysterectomy surgery. This Dr. has mastered her craft‼️ After surgery I felt no pain. I challenged did she even perform surgery on me. Dr. Lowman called me the next day after my surgery to check on me. All is well. I will recommend her to all/any women that I come in contact with. 💕
NEW PATIENTS BE AWARE...I called this office today as a new patient for Dr. Lowman, who came HIGHLY recommended. I was told that she will only see patients who requires surgery. I wanted to schedule an annual and see if I still required surgery and was scheduled to see Carden. I asked for Cardens first name and was told that was her first name and was given her last name. I proceeded to schedule my appointment with Veronica (I think) and was told an email was sent. I checked quickly and said ok I received it (meaning the email) and hung up. I researched via Google Carden Toti and found out she was a nurse practitioner. I proceeded to check the email which had NP as her credentials. I called the office back to clarify that this indeed would be my first point of contact for a new patient and an annual. I decided to cancel my appointment after explaining to her that I did not have a problem seeing a nurse practitioner, BUT I was not comfortable with seeing her for my first initial visit. She replied ok and we ended the call.I do feel she (the receptionist) was perturbed with me because I asked questions and tried to explain my personal situation on the initial call. Throughout our conversation, she seemed rushed and a lot of dates offered conflicted with my schedule for August, therefore I asked for September dates because I realized my August schedule was busy. Regardless, I was never rude.Just a FYI, first point of contacts plays an essential role in how one feels about your front office etiquette and making sound decisions on doctors offices. In closing, I do understand becoming high profile and limiting your practice to your expertise. If I may add a suggestion it would be that this information be emphasized at the beginning of scheduling with any potential new patients in order for them to make a sound decision. Not everyone is comfortable with having an annual with a NP when trying to establish a relationship with a NEW doctor on such a delicate matter. This is merely a suggestion. Thank you.
Dr. Lowman is amazing. She is attentive, informative, knowledgeable, and encouraging. It is important to know that a urogynecologist is available to provide care similar to a conventional gynecologist. As a black female, it is important to me to feel comfortable with decisions I and my provider make about my body and health. This was one of the few medical visits where I internally exclaimed that the experience was amazing. Dr. Lowman presented clear, easy to understand information that allowed me to make an informed choice. She gave me information for follow-up options that empowered me to be continuously proactive about my health and well-being. I highly recommend Dr. Lowman.
Dr. Joye Lowman is an excellent surgeon and physician. I have entrusted dozens of patients to her care over the last 12 years. From the routine overactive bladder to the most complex urogynecological disorders, Dr. Lowman provides quality care. Patients trust her counseling, they feel comforted by her compassionate style, and they have excellent outcomes from her high level medical and surgical management plans. Patients love her and the amazing care that she provides. I would recommend her over and over.
My visit with Dr. Lowman was a real pleasure. She listens and is very proactive.
My experience was great from the receptionist, to the nurse and finally the amazing Nurse Practitioner. I came in concerned about my health issue and left feeling much better about the reasons I came into their office in the first place. We will follow up in a week or so but I am confident all is well with me.
I’ve recently had surgery performed by doctor Lowman. My experience(s) with Dr. Lowman were great and she was professional at all times; very knowledgeable about the procedures I needed. I’m super happy with the service I’ve received. I had a partial hysterectomy and mesh sling placed. Everything was explained to me how the procedure would go and what would take place. Dr. Lowman took the time to take my calls and answered any questions I had. Once the procedure took place they would go out and let my husband know what was going on. When done Dr. Lowman would come see me everyday that I was in the hospital to check on me. Because I have other health issues she made sure to get doctor records to go over them before the surgery to make sure all basis were covered before and after. She explained my home care to my children and my husband; what to expect after the surgery. I’m very happy with my results.
For long time the only reason that I keep my insurance with Kaiser Permanent was because Dr. Joye Lowman working there. I do not have complaints with KP, but I spent so much time to find a Dr. to make a right diagnostics in my case. However, to be a good doctor is not only give a right diagnostic, is to understand the patient and give the best care. I spend week try to find the Doctor Lowman after she left KP. And now I am so happy to be her patient again. She has been my physician and my surgeon for years.
Dr. Lowman is amazing! After going to a urologist recommended by my gastroenterologist I was told I had grade 3 bladder prolapse (cystocele) but I couldnt meet with the actual surgeon for over a month. When I say I was miserable, it feels like an understatement! Day to day life was horrible for me, I couldnt play with my kids outside, take the dog out for a walk, I could barely get off the couch. I was in so much pain and couldnt urinate very much at all. I made an appt with Dr. Lowman and they ended up calling me back to see if I wanted to come in sooner, which I definitely did! My bladder isnt prolapsed, I ended having IC...this was a total game changer! She drained my bladder and instantly all the pressure I felt was gone. I started some new meds and within hours I was urinating a lot more normal!!! She has been a miracle-worker for me, Im beyond grateful for Dr. Lowman and her wonderful staff!!
Dr Lowman has been the most understanding and caring Obgyn I have yet to encounter. She has been very communicative and attentive, which is very important to me as a patient. She has stayed behind after hours just to speak with me personally, I highly recommend her as a healthcare professional.
Dr. Lowman, is absolutely amazing at what she does. As a first time patient of hers, she made me feel comfortable and confident moving forward with her. She understood my concerns and came up with great solutions. She explain everything to me and made me feel at ease!
Dr. Lowman is a doctor who uses her knowledge to solve problems. Many doctors have knowledge but they deal in vending-machine solutions. I suffered with with mild to debilitating abdominal pain for ten years. None of the doctors that I consulted took my symptoms seriously. In fact, I had been told that nothing was wrong with me. Finally, I mentioned my pain to my gynecologist, and she sent me to Dr. Joye Lowman. Dr. Lowman patiently listened to the details of my pain episodes. She scheduled surgery for me and went through the extra trouble to schedule other specialists to attend the surgery in case my problem required major repairs like resecting my bowls. The surgery turned out to involve a minor repair so the other surgeons were not required but they were there and ready. Now I am pain-free.
Dr. Lowman goes above and beyond for her patients. Seeing first hand her care and compassion she shows for her patients it’s truly heartwarming. One of the smartest doctors I’ve worked alongside. 10/10 would recommend. She is gold!
Dr. Joye Lowman is a phenomenal physician and surgeon, who genuinely cares about not only her individual patients, but women and healthcare as a whole. She has years of experience and has been educated and trained at the top schools and hospitals in the nation.
Dr Lowman and her team are awesome! Very responsive and on top of everything. Denise helped when insurance and Piedmont couldn’t figure it out - Denise did and made it happen. Dr Lowman is very personable and takes the time to answer all of your questions. Highly recommend.
I went to about 5 different doctors who couldnt identify a diagnosis. But once I switched to Dr. Lowman, my year long pain and suffering was over. Shes beyond patient, kind and caring of her patients. Previous doctors sort of overlooked my pain and once I was able to explain everything to Dr. Lowman, she knew exactly what to do. If youre an African American woman in need of a new obgyn, shes it!!
I had a vaginal hysterectomy. I didn’t even realize that I had the surgery. I didn’t feel any pain. Dr Lowman called to check on me day 2 and I literally asked her so she really do the surgery. Great doctor, professional staff, and clean office.
First, let me say that I am very thankful to have found Dr. Lowman. I just had my second mid-urethral sling surgery on September 8th. It has literally changed my quality of life. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Lowman and her staff.I had my first mid-urethral sling surgery back in 2016 and it was unsuccessful. I continued to leak for many years after when I coughed and sneezed but nothing as severe as the past two years. The past two years have been the most depressing years of my life! Since March of 2020, I have had constant leakage, even when I am not sneezing , coughing or exercising! I had literally given up hope on finding help and thought that this was the way I’d spend the rest of my years! I’m only 49!Depressed and desperate for answers, I searched for a Urogynecologist.Dr. Joye Lowman and her staff were very responsive to my request for an appointment and gathered all the information necessary. My office visit was August 17th, my surgery was scheduled Sept. 8th! I was amazed at how quickly this process moved and so grateful. She wasted no time and got me in as soon as possible because she knew what this meant to me.My life is my own again and I cannot stress this enough; please take the time to explore the sling surgery options again! For those on the fence or in fear, give the sling another chance, it is so worth it! You may think that you dont have options and you are stuck living this way for the rest of your life.... Im here to tell you, youre not stuck! I’m pad free for life! I feel amazing and like a new woman! Dr. Lowman has gained a patient for life!
Dr. Lowman is a true hero to me. In a time when doctors do not seem to even know their patients, I bet I could call her today and she’d remember me. I can’t say that about many! She had to work on some pelvic problems that other doctors performed poorly. She visited me in the hospital after surgeries, called me for follow ups, and even took care of me even when my health care options changed.
Dr. Joye Lowman, MDI just wanted to let you know that I feel that I received the best possibletreatment from you and your staff.I sincerely believe that I might not be alive if I didn’t listen to you and wentto the hospital and followed your diagnosis and your recommended treatment. You were very caring and concerned during my treatment. I will alwaysremember you as the very best doctor I have ever had.Very truly yours,Peggy Binkley
My case is that I had just the uterus prolapse and no cancer or fibron and I was advice to have total radical hysterectomy (with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy is the removal of the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes (salpingo) and ovaries )I did cancel in August 2013 with Dr. Lowman Joyce because was a bad review on Vitals and I wanted Dr. Dayton to do my surgery in November 2013.When I went to surgery was only Dr. Dayton before and after surgery not Dr. Lowman. Dr Lowman did not go to see me after surgery in the hospital room. How is possible as a doctor do not care how is the patient after surgery. From a simple surgery I went to two major surgery, vaginal and abdomen laparoscopy. My surgery was inside vaginal and after she did on my abdomen the laparoscopy surgeryI did sign only for vaginal surgery. I got pelvic nerve and scar tissue damage plus 3 prolapses, rectum, vaginal and bladder. Because of a negligence of Dr. Lowman I have a lot of pain in my abdomen and to have again three more surgery because was not a proper support for bladder , vagina and rectum. The rectum is going through wall of vagina. How is possible in the in 21 Century a case as mine? To sign for a doctor to do my surgery and after surgery to find out that the surgery was done by the doctor Lowman that I did cancel.I do not recommend as a doctor.
Dr. Loweman was great and met all of my expectations! I would recommend her to others!
Dr. Lowman is an excellent physician, a urogynecologist. She spends time with her patients, reviews their history and needs a develops an individual treatment plan.

She is the Best!! She is AWESOME & I LOVE HER!!!
Dr Lowman and her team showed the best care for me at a time in need. She listened in a caring way, gave great medical advice, and stayed with me until the end- even when my care had to switch hands.
