I cannot say enough good things about Fairfax. Everything from the detailed website to the staff is nothing short of amazing. I have had to call several times for various reasons and every representative I speak with is so kind, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. Fairfax has been nothing but wonderful, from the donor search, to ordering, it was a smooth and simple process. I was so worried that the donor my husband and I chose was going to run out of vials before we had the chance to order, especially since we arent inseminating until next month and I wasnt sure how storing vials worked and how early I could order. I really, really want to buy it, but my English is very poor. However, I was particularly lucky to meet the staff of fairfax. We feel great about choosing Fairfax Cryobank, it was a little difficult at first because we did have other options to choose from. My wife and I have looked around at many cyrobanks and Fairfax has been the easiest to use with the most diverse donors. We really appreciate the genetic testing results and lifetime photos. They even have a section where the donor has listed out family members (parents, siblings, grandparents) if they are still living and any medical conditions they had. We are excited to start our IVF journey with Fairfax.

Finding Fairfax Cryobank has been such a blessing for my wife and I. Finding a donor at first felt very overwhelming but Fairfax has made the journey pretty easy. We were able to filter out everything we would and wouldn’t want in a donor and having access to childhood all the way through adult photos was so helpful in our decision. Dialing down to exactly what we were looking for. Once we decided on a donor we needed to start the process of buying and shipping out the vial that we chose. Every single person we’ve had the pleasure of speaking to has been so kind and knowledgeable. They helped us through every step and made us feel very comfortable with the process. The website was easy to navigate and the customer service was top notch.
To start off this review, I wanted to let you all know that my husband is a disabled combat veteran and we have chosen to go through a Cryobank. I came across Fairfax and my husband and I decided on the perfect donor for our family. Luckily we live in a state where we can do home insemination and thats what we are in the process of doing. I have read some reviews where people say their Dr. wont sign the form because of the way it is worded and Im so sorry that has happened. My Dr. had no issues signing and our office staff is so amazing that they even called the Cryobank to verify they were sending the form over. Once the form was signed and sent back, I called and the lady that answered was so sweet and verified it had indeed been received. I cant thank all of the staff enough at Fairfax for making this process so easy because the last thing anyone needs in a time of trying to conceive is stress. I didnt get one rude person when calling and I called a bunch to check on things and everyone there was great. This process was so easy and they are very detailed when explaining things. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone thats wanting to go through a Cryobank and actually have recommended them to a friend. The only downside was that they go through FedEx and that was a very stressful time because they had lost our vials and then found them and it was a cluster but Ive already been in contact with FedEx about that issue. Another thing is that they offer Military discounts. My husband and I ordered 3 vials and it was over $3,000 but with the discount (which I think is 10%) and it knocked off a few hundred dollars which most definitely helps. If we decide to use a Cryobank again, no doubt we will use Fairfax! Thanks again for everyone being so kind and helpful during a time when it is definitely needed!!
*THANKFUL*As a two mom family our pregnancy journey has been a roller coaster of emotions. Luckliy Fairfax is always there to support our journey by offering different options for our family. We successfully conceived September 2019 with our Fairfax specimen delivered to the fertility clinic. Our daughter was born June 2020 and now we are pregnant with another daughter due March 2023!! What makes this experience amazing is that we were able to ship our Fairfax specimen to our home where we successfully conceived. My wife and I selected Fairfax as our Cryobank and found the perfect donor! The customer service was great and the process seemed easy but when it came to the option of inseminating at home, Fairfax missed the mark. We had to get signed approval from our physician to have the specimen sent to our home which our doctor was ready an willing to do, however, Fairfax’s document for releasing products to a customers home lists that the procedure will take place under the supervision and care our doctor (which would not be the case). For liability purposes, our physician couldn’t sign that form and Fairfax doesn’t posses and will not correct their form to reflect the correct terminology so that we can get the approval we need. Onlookers beware! Be sure that you connect with your physician beforehand because there’s a good chance you will fall in love with the site and it’s donors only to have to change your plans last second.

My wife and I have been trying to conceive for over a year now and let me just say it has been a JOURNEY. We started off with IUI, switched to ICI and then now have finally ended up at IVF. Through the process, Fairfax has been an incredible resource for us. We researched a lot of different Cryobanks before we found Fairfax and thank GOD we did. Other Cryobanks just didnt have the options like Fairfax does. Fairfax has adult photos, baby photos, details about the donor, their health history, if theyre CMV neg/post, if they have any reported pregnancies, audio recordings of the donors voice, SO MUCH. Plus, a lot of other Cryobanks are MORE expensive, for limited options, less details and less years of business. We were able to choose donors that had curly hair and brown eyes just like me, so the baby even resembles me a bit! Whenever we called in, the staff was so friendly, knowledgable, and always did everything they could to go over and above for our family. As members of the LGBTQ+ community, we were worried we would face a bit of judgement, but never did we ever feel that from Fairfax. They were our saving grace during this trying time. We cant say enough good things about this bank.
My wife and I just began our fertility journey and chose Fairfax CRYOBANK. We had so many donor options to choose from and we were able to pick everything we wanted. Genetic history, family history, and even their pictures! We got to see it all! We will continue coming back to Fairfax as we continue to grow our family!
Selection was fine and I was eventually successful, but the experience with working with Fairfax Cryobank has been terrible. Their customer service is horrible and their pricing for long term storage is outrages given their very minimal management and fixed costs. Good luck building families to everyone out there! I wish this industry was regulated and companies, like Fairfax Cryobank, didnt take advantage of clients financially during one of the most vulnerable events of their lives.
Non-existent customer support. I mailed in my sperm freezing kit over 3 weeks ago. They claim evaluation results are ready within 48 hours and I’ve yet to hear anything from them. I’ve called and emailed several times with no answers. For all I know, they cashed my checks and threw the sample away.Edit: Shortly after writing this review, I received an email and letter with the evaluation results and the processing status. Aside from improved customer service, this business would benefit from an automatic notification process, perhaps also an app showing the users’ information and access to their tools and services.
Similarly to what others have related, my doctor wouldnt sign the form for home insemination because of the wording. And, like other reviewers, I felt disappointed that I invested substantial time and energy looking through profiles and picking a donor from this site, not to mention paying for a 3-month subscription for full access to the profiles. I picked Fairfax over other cryobanks because I thought they provided the best selection and gave the most comprehensive information about those donors. But at this point it seems to have been a dead end. I agree with the others who said be sure you have a doctor on board before going down this road.
Before I get started down this road has anyone had any luck with the at home insemination consent form? I know that has to be signed before you can even think about moving forward with at home insemination so Im curious...thank you! So far Fairfax Cryobank has been very nice in answering my questions.

I am extremely disappointed and heartbroken! After months almost a year of waiting for the donor I want. He finally became available. I made a purchase online which went through with a confirmation number. And today their company call me to say it was a mistake! They dont have a vial for me. How can this be?! After Im scheduled for a cycle. This is unacceptable... I have to suffer for their “mistake.” I dont want a refund. I dont want an apology. I understand things happen, but sometimes sorry doesnt cut it.

Don’t buy more than one vial if you don’t plan on going through all of them. They tell you a you’ll receive a “partial” refund. Well partial is half 50% of what you paid so they, make $300-$600 off you and then turn right back around to sell for full price. So basically only pay for what you need! Oh and THEN as easy as it was to buy, you need to goto an entire notary to sell back like it wasn’t ME trying to sell it back. Just go find some random person off the street willing to give up their parental rights…Edit: Now, not only have we scanned in our documents, they tell us our notary has put the stamp in the incorrect position. So we can DocuSign this time. Why couldn’t we just DocuSign last time? So now our DocuSign information was received back in January. No refund. So we get an e-mail stating it’s 4-6 weeks to process. Still awaiting refund, then just for fun we get charged AGAIN for storage. For something we literally have requested to return and get another charge. Don’t waste your time giving yourself a headache. Buy one thing at a time… Or nothing at all preferably. Honestly I don’t even understand how they’re in business. Congrats to the people who actually got something out of all this.
This place is really unethical. They advertise on the website and in their brochures/materials that they allow you to do at-home insemination. However, after I paid them thousands of dollars for storage, they informed me that we needed a doctors note where the doctor affirms that the insemination will be performed under my direction and supervision. I asked them to clarify and they said oh, we just mean that your doctor answered any questions you might have. I asked them to give me a form that stated that and they we cant, its just a formality. I spoke to several doctors who said they could not sign it, as they are not in my home directly supervising me. I just read another review from a few years ago raising this issue, and they responded that this is in response to state law. This is a lie. I offered to pick it up, and I specifically asked if there is anywhere I could have them ship it when they dont have that note. They are engaging in false advertise to the extent that I would call it downright fraud.Edited to add: The owner response says Our donor sperm vials can be used for home insemination after a licensed medical provider signs a consent form that acknowledges that in-home insemination is a suitable option for the recipient. This is not at all what the form says. It says that the insemination will occur under the doctors direct supervision. This is exactly the kind of dishonesty that is ubiquitous with this place, where their website and representatives say one thing and the form they require says another and they refuse to reconcile the two.The response also claims Due to varying parentage laws that differ state to state, proper documentation is required to meet state regulations, therefore we recommend that our recipients check with our client services representatives to verify that we are able to ship to your home state for home insemination. I did check with them before the sperm was frozen and they said yes, no problem. Then when it came time to ship and they gave me the supervision form, I explicitly asked if I could get it shipped to another state and have a different form instead. They would not even engage with the question and clearly do not have different practices for different states.
I am at the beginning process of IVF in which I will be using donor sperm. I have research 2 other sperm bank one being locally in my state but I really like the reviews I have read. Fairfax is in the running. I will post another review later.

I did a directed donation with this bank. They failed to research to policies for the state the donation would go to, despite my asking them multiple times about it (his response to my original question made it sound as if he was guessing at the laws which concerned me). Ultimately their screwup prevented us from waiving the quarantine which meant that the women I was donating to did not get the donation until *after* her only chance to do IVF had expired. She will never be a mother due to their failing to do basic research and collect tests they needed to.I later learned that they *could* have fixed the situation even after the first screw up, but they didnt look into work-arounds to get the donation to me in time.Worst when I complained they faught me tooth and nail to get a refund. They tried to give me credit at their bank, as if I go around doing directed donations every day, and ultimately didnt give me my refund until half a year or more after the incident due to constant pressure and implication that I could sue for even more money. They only refunded me the direct costs, I never got refunded for the money I spent to store the sperm or a few other assorted associated costs, much less the massive lost interest of having thousands of dollars tied up for well over a year where they couldnt be invested.Worst, they never *once* apologized for being the reason a women will never have a child or do anything to make up for wasting her last chance at IVF.
