I scheduled an appt to have a chest x-ray, due to shortness of breath, pain and pressure in my chest. I have asthma and a history of pneumonia and bronchitis so I wanted to get checked to ensure Im not having repeat illnesses. However, once I got to the facility, I was given an EKG and told it was abnormal and needed to go to the ER via ambulance. HEMSI, our ambulance service, was called and two repeat EKGs were performed by EMS. Both of their EKGs were normal. Upon further inspection, it was found that the leads were reverse on AFCs (American Family Care) EKG. The EMS called Huntsville hospitals ER Dr, who they sent the EKG to for readings, and was told there was no reason for me to be seen in the ER. I explained that I have a heart Dr for preventive services and I see him annually, without issues, but I agreed to follow up with him as needed. After exiting the ambulance, I returned to AFC to get the x-ray that I initially went in for, but was told the Dr will not see me, as her recommendation was for me to go to the ER. I was told that I could come back tomorrow and register to be seen for the x-ray but today they will not see me because the Dr was not agreeable. I asked the difference between being seen today verses being seen tomorrow, but received no answer. I was refused medical treatment, due to an error on AFCs part. Instead of providing me with the services requested, an x-ray, I was sent away. If I had heart problems, could I not be treated for lung issues simultaneously at AFC? Or is this a tactic for insurance fraud, to be paid for the same service twice by refusing patients of their initial request? Seems if they messed up my EKG, the right thing to do is to provide the service that I signed up for, as well as what my insurance is paying for.
It was my first time today and I felt very welcomed. The people at the front desk were very nice. Lisa was wonderful! I forgot to take my blood pressure medication, and I usually get nervous going to the doctor, but she made me feel at ease and my blood pressure was normal! The nurse practitioner was also very kind.
Front desk ladies are the kindest souls. Doctor is very thorough and I could feel the genuine care. I got taken care of. I will recommend American Family Care Madison to everyone. Kindness goes a long way and it also goes both ways. Thank you so much for helping me today!
This location is interesting. Its highly efficient, has highly skilled staff, and addresses your needs and concerns. I think with additional funding for renovations and updated equipment, this could be a leading clinic in the area. Doesnt mean its not worth the trip, but its an amazing spot.
Came on a very busy day but the staff tried to get me in and quickly as possible. They were very friendly and apologized for the wait despite the rush of patients. Thank you so much for great care.
I appreciate the prompt service received today! My appointment was at 6 pm and I was out and on my way to the pharmacy about an hour later! Also, the ability to check in online saves the day! Besides, completing registration online minimizes the spread of germs!
An unexpected uplifting visit for upper respiratory issue. I was seen quickly, the staff were the most courteous and thoughtful I can remember at an urgent care visit. Doc Maryanne patched me up and took some extra steps to help with follow up care; Ollie and. Cheryl got me taken care of and I was on my way with a smile. Great experience, something special going on here :)
Tried booking a Covid telemed appointment through the Solv app. What a disaster. I was billed the copay of 79.95 but never received service. There was no communication whatsoever. No one answered the phone. No one called. Save your money and avoid these crooks.
Mary Ann and Lisa were so kind and welcoming. They were very thorough with their work. Although I wasn’t feeling great they made my time here so much better.
What a refreshing experience at this Urgent Care! The entire staff was friendly and efficient. I got in on my online save my spot. Thank you MaryAnne NP for your quick and friendly service. Your willingness to hear all my concerns is great!
Check in was good.Nurse that checked me in was less than congenial.Never saw a Dr. I think he was a PA but never identified himself. Not even sure there was a certified MD there!.
Went on what was possibly one of the busiest days ever. The staff was friendly and the NP was great. Just wish there was a bit more seating and signage about using the QR registration code when you first walk in. Having to wait on line for some time to just be told to use the code was a waste of time
Spent hours there Sunday w my moms hand and wrist very swollen and painful, finally had to leave as shes diabetic and hadnt had anything to eat or drink for so many hours. At least we found it wasnt broken, but no treatment offered except for an ointment prescription that the 2 pharmacies we checked dont stock (because expensive and not covered by insurance).
My visit was fine as far as the reason I went in. I got a DOT physical. Everything was done very well, quickly & efficiently. Very friendly staff. My problem is, I have gone to this clinic for the physical for the last 6 years. It always cost $50. Now that AFC bought them out, the exact same physical & process cost $175. Thats outrageous. Nothing in the work put in changed, but the price hike is criminal. The staff was great & were totally professional. But I wont go back next time, nor will I go to AFC for anything again.
... so, i visited AFCM, feeling like i had a cold and turned out to be COVID, well they looked at what meds i am taking and prescribed a COVID pill available at Walgreens. Now, no one wants to be told they have COVID, but i am very pleased that they tested me for it and i should be ok in 5 to 7 days. Thank you AFCM!!!...
Went in for a quick drug test, was the only one in there when I walked in and started the online check in......... waited over an hour, an hour to pee in a cup, come on. When I went to the front desk to ask how much longer, they didnt know, they just gave the paperwork to the lab technician. After I finally got seen, no one seemed how to do their job. what are you here for? Ill gladly drive 40 minutes for the one in Athens or Decatur next time.
I really enjoyed their new automated check-in procedure that you do via your cell phone. It speeds up the whole check in process and makes it flow quickly. The staff was great from the nurses to the nurse practitioner.
Everyone was very nice and professional. Didn’t wait long after check in time considering it was Christmas Eve. They seemed genuinely concerned about me. Would definitely go back.
Dr. Daniels pretty much accused me of lying when the question about medication was unclear. I really silent appreciate that. There were two people at the front desk one being a female who was very nice and one being a male who was a little rude. I went there to do a DOT SCREENING but i would not recommend at all. All the females working there are very nice, the men, not so nice.
Great customer service all around!! The receptionist was very friendly, the nurse was very thorough and polite. The doctor made me feel like I mattered. She was thorough and very attentive. The overall visit time was great compared to most urgent care visits I had in the past. Thanks for everything!!!
Wonderful service today from check in to check out. Mary Anne, our nurse practitioner was fabulous along with the X-ray tech, the staff that checked our vitals, and the one who tested is. Just want to say they were very friendly, polite, and caring!! I recommend this Urgent Care.
What Ive learned about AFC from the past few visits:1. It doesnt matter if you set an appointment because they arent really appointments (as per front desk staff)2. The wait list is inaccurate so you can sit there for 2 hours at the top of the list and it doesnt mean anything (as per front desk staff)3. They do not keep their clinics appropriately staffed. Having only one provider a day is unacceptable. There should be dedicated staff for DOT/drug screening visits separate from sick visits. Someone sat next to me in a room full of coughing people for 2 hours and only needed a screening. As I write this, Im going on 3 hours of waiting to be checked for an ear infection. They still havent collected my copay.Edited: I was there for a total of 5 hours. Changed my rating to 3 stars because the NP really knows her stuff.
We have been to this location multiple times and the staff is good. Front desk staff could be more warm and welcoming when they greet you but what I love is that we have never had to wait long and the nurses are great with my children, and me too! Would highly recommend!
Lisa and Maryann were amazing! This was by far the greatest experience I have ever had at an urgent care and I have 3 little ones so I’ve been to plentyyyy lol. They were friendly, upbeat, and made sure I was okay. You can tell they really care about the patients they see. We need more Lisa’s and Maryann’s all over! Especially being a woman of color we don’t always have the best experiences going to doctors offices. Thanks ladies!! 10/10 would recommend this place
I had a very pleasant experience here, from the time I walked in to the time I was discharged. Bailey who took my vitals and ask me what bought me in. She was very attentive and listened to my concerns and the reason I was there, as well as nurse practitioner Erika. She listened and went above and beyond to get to the root cause of why I came there to be seen. She seem more concerned than my own PCP, if you come to this urgent care I will definitely recommend Nurse Practitioner Erika and Bailey. You will not be disappointed with your visit. Kudos to these two wonderful people. And had a great experience with the xray technician as well.
Always great service. The wait gets to be a little long and the digital paper work having to be completed during every visit is a tremendously big pain, but the office personnel, nurses and doctors are all very excellent. I like getting a printout summarizing the visit, prescriptions, and prognosis to be very good. I have never gotten that anywhere else.
Bed side manners are almost null & void at a lot of Dr offices, BUT.... I love this urgent care. Took my son today for having nose bleeds & chest pains, they made him feel so comfortable. They are faster than the ER & keep things moving. Everyone, from the receptionist up front Ms. Ollie, Erin NP, & nurse Bhumi were all great. Its been consistent every time Ive went. 10/10. Give these ladies a raise.
I has a wonderful experience during my visit with AFC Madison. Starting with the check out desk who got me to the back extremely quick. The vitals nurse was professional and efficient. Before she dropped me off in a room she made sure I was aware of my surroundings by demonstrating everything I might need to access. And then the wonderful Doctor came in. She seemed like a very caring family member. i didnt feel forced at no point during the visit because she provided me with choices and explanations when needed. And finally my check out nurse. i heard her singing a familiar tune before i got to my room the services she provided weee such a pleasure as i suspected. i just wish the office decorated to match their cheerful mood. or christmas music. tis the season
The staff and the service provided by the clinic is outstanding. However, their billing department at Birmingham is just terrible. My wife and I had wellness physical exams and those were coded incorrectly when the corporate office submitted the claims, so my insurance, that covers 100% preventive exams, didnt cover these appointments due to an incorrect code being assigned. After calling AFC corporate billing department numerous times and them still re-submitting the claim with the same incorrect coding, I gave up and ended up paying $280 for a clerical error that no one seems to care about. I am extremely disappointed as the service at the clinic was excellent and I was hopping to continue to get our physicals with them.
I’ve been to a few urgent cares, and this one is my favorite. I like that they give you the care you need, and if they can’t, they direct you to who can. Even though what I came in for they weren’t able to help, they directed me to my next steps and gave me a prescription to help while I wait for my next appointment. Also, they are some of the nicest people in field. If I have to recommend an urgent care to my friends, I always recommend here.
Wait time was not bad but the Customer service at the front desk was not it. They didn’t greet me when I came in. It was like no one really wanted to be there. I felt I had did something to them the way they just wasn’t customer friendly at all, it was as if I was a bother to them and they didn’t care. However, the nurse was great! I just think they need more CX service experience in the front because they are the first people you see when coming to get service. They are the frontline and don’t set a good example. I told my kids as well leaving out that I won’t come back to this location again because I just didn’t appreciate the service. I didn’t feel welcomed, AT ALL!
They have a process to make appointments but they don’t honor an appointment. If a walk-in shows up before you they will see the walk-in before you. So far, been waiting 1 hour past my appointment time and they tell me there are 4 walk-ins ahead of me.The nursing staff and doctor were very professional and good so I would recommend them. The staff is why I bumped up my rating from 1 to 3.
I actually prefer coming here over scheduling with my GP. I came in thinking one thing was wrong and they did labs and got me in with the ODC on the same day (something my GP has never accomplished or likely never attempted). Their bedside manner was superb. Even though I wasn’t feeling well, I left with a smile. I truly believe I am in good hands as I await my results. Thank you M. Randel!
I went to this AFC 10 Nov 2024. The lady was very helpful checking in. The nurse asked questions, got vitals then set up for Xray & blood work. The NP, Erika Elaine Meeks, discharged me. All were efficient, personal, and professional. I was prescribed what l needed for bronchitis and began improving within a few days. I’ve gone to this office for many years and always receive excellent treatment.
Mary Ann was awesome! She was very attentive and listened to all of my concerns. She made sure to act on my issues promptly and gave me all the resources I needed to follow up with the referrals I was given. She also stressed to reach out to her if I had any concerns or issues. Definitely recommend this location. The best immediate/urgent care experience I have ever had! Thank you!
The doctor she was very nice the professionally all nurse practitioner nurses were very professional five star in my book thank you doctor for doing my exam I will definitely come back in the future to the hospital the nurses and the practitioner were very professional very nice to talk to concerning about your issues I came in there this evening took a DOT test and a drug screen they were very well professional at it Im a veteran I like when people do their job correctly thank you doctor again thank you again American care five star for me and the doctors name is Stephanie Gafford thank youWe all can get along as customers consumers and patients we all can get along with people thank you doctor five star for me
I realize AFC doesnt accept appointments, but they offer online save your spot. I waited an hour after the time I entered. However, my real issue is i called the next day for them to send a prescription to my pharmacy. It never happened, and when I tried calling again, the phone went to voicemail. I left a message and never received a return call.
I went to the facility because I was not feeling well. I left and felt slightly worse. Upon arrival the reception staff was not welcoming. No sense of caring was demonstrated, it was as if I bothering them. The electronic documenting for intake was great. The triage nurse was friendly, but the equipment she used had exposed wires and was not working properly. They never did get my vitals, even when I was taken to the exam room. The Nurse practitioner spent all of 6 minutes with me without touching me once. As I was explaining why I was there, there was eye contact but I don’t think she listened to much of what I said. She gave her diagnosis and I was discharged.
Lisa and Maryann are amazing! They were so kind and patient. Maryann explained a lot about medications I didnt know, regarding my high blood pressure and gave a lot of helpful information.
The nurses were allAmazing. Treatment was great my only concern was the waiting room and bathroom was dirty and when you are ill you want to at least feelLike you are surrounded by clean surroundings. The treatment room was very clean but that was it.
Daniel Nailor, CRNP was very easy to talk to, he listened to my problem and didn’t just pass my problem onto someone else. He at least tried to help me the best way he could and I am very grateful for that. I will definitely be going back to AFC in the future.
Daniel their Nurse Practitioner is excellent. As a physician myself, I know good health care. He did a great job with a complex problem. Highly recommended.
They can’t do a drug test. Everything in the building has only been there 2 months. Nurse tries to indicate to me it’s my responsibility to bring the drug form after using them for 10 years where they supply the drug form and it’s the policy in their contract with our company. She starts back tracking her story. Never going back. Can’t get it done and will make up any story to justify it.
I was up early and decided to make an appointment vs walking in. I thought the appointment would trump walk-in’s, nope. Lesson learned, just get there at 8am.Additionally, there is no follow up on X-rays and labs after you leave. There needs to be a website to pull your results in case you need them for your primary doctor.I will probably go back but just earlier without an appointment.
I woke up with continued pain in my shoulder and back. I had to leave work because the pain was so intense and I couldn’t catch my breath. I explained that I *thought* I was having muscular issues, however I was not examined for breathing or heartbeat just my arm lifted and some questions assuring me it was most likely a muscle strain. My back was prodded some however nothing was said until afterwards. I asked for an xray just in case but was assured it wouldn’t show anything if it was muscle/tendon strain. I pushed and finally Schonna Etheridge (the nurse practitioner taking care of me with a student with her) said fine but ordered some steroid shots. The person who took my xrays took ages to do so, was very kind but extended the pain since it took her ages to get an image. I was then informed ten minutes later “well good thing you pushed for an xray, you have pneumonia”. I was taken to the image, had zero idea what I was looking at, but informed my entire right lung was full. I was not offered/ordered an antibiotic shot afterwards which seemed weird, but I was given two antibiotics (neither at a very high milligram) and neither were the best for pneumonia, an inhaler, and cough syrup. As she shuffled me out the door she said “oh! I didn’t even check your breathing!” She then proceeded to check my breathing in the hall outside of the exit door then gave me a couple of breathing exercises to do. The whole experience was bizarre and subpar. I went to my personal doctor the following Tuesday (four days later after Veterans Day) and he was taken aback that I wasn’t sent to the hospital based off the xrays he ordered that day. I’m so disappointed that I wasn’t directed to go to the hospital at any point during my visit. I expressed that I’d been in pain off and on since Oct 30. She even said “well you didn’t tell me about any other symptoms!” when I expressed my surprise. I explained that the pain was the only symptom and that the symptoms had intensified the day I came to be checked (muscle pain and breathlessness). I could have really been in some serious trouble, and clearly I understand that my weird case is not her responsibility but I’m just flummoxed that I was not A) told to go to the hospital B) offered an antibiotic shot C) given woefully inadequate antibiotics. Her response to my diagnosis felt very unprofessional even going as far as not to give me a work note since I should be fine to go back work on that Tuesday, Nov 12. It’s Nov 19 and I’m still out of work recovering due to the severity of this pneumonia. I won’t be coming back because I can’t trust the reliability of response.
Mary Ann and Bailey You’re so kind and so patient and attentive to my concerns, symptoms, and needs. I always leave their practice feeling very well advocated for, listened to, and taking care of… in regards to the medical professional care they bring to the table. I have gone to other urgent cares in the Madison area for the last nine years. My family and I will always come back to these guys. They do care about their patients, If you are someone who is new to the adult life/anxious about starting your medical experiences on your own… these are the gals for you!!! If it is a long wait, it’s because they are busy and their service is WORTH IT! So buckle up and get ready to be taken care of!!
Mary Ann and Bailey were AMAZING and could not have taken better care of me. I felt so heard and actually cared about as a person while I was with them. They’re genuinely looking out for the patients best interest and that’s always the kind of people I want taking care of me and my family.
The doctor onsite is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful beside manner. The staff was also nice and very respectful. I choose this clinic over others in the area because the quality of care is great. I do recommend this clinic and I hope they maintain this demeanor. They really listen to you there, and is not like most places I have been to over the past three years. I prefer going to this clinic over the ER bc I believe the care is better here.
Thanks to Lisa and Maryann for great service. **Update 8/17/2024**I am incredibly grateful for Daniels prior ER experience and the acute care he provided to my son, which saved us a trip to the ER. The entire staff was attentive and professional, ensuring we received the best care possible. As a nurse myself, I can confidently attest to the exceptional care offered by Daniel and the rest of the team. Thank you!!!
Have a very painful keiloid in a high friction area. Went in yesterday to see if a physician at this facility could inject it with a steroid for relief of the itching/burning and to assist in flattening it. Asked if it could be treated there and I was told yes. Was provided the name of the steroid the facility uses. Made an appointment for today. Got tothe appointment and wjen I reiterated the reason for the appointment was told that it could not be treated there.A waste of my time over 2 days plus delays the potential appointment with a dermatologist to address a PAINFUL scenario. Now I have to verify that my insurance will not be billed and my copay refunded.I enjoy the convenience of being able to schedule an appointment. The staff was VERY friendly. It is unhelpful when I ask a question am given a clear response after thr staff member goes to check, someone from the back comes out and provides confirmation and steroid name that would be used......only for none of it to be applicable.
This was my first time going to AFC and I have to say the service was excellent. Everyone was professional. It was quick and the nurse practitioner Mary Ann was phenomenal. I would definitely go there again if I have any urgent issues.
My overall experience was great! I scheduled an appointment and completed the registration paperwork online prior to my visit. I was seen with 10 minutes of arriving for my appointment and visit completed within 30 minutes. While waiting for my discharge paperwork, I received confirmation from my pharmacy of having received my RX. I could not have asked for a more efficient visit. Thank you!
Wow! Great first time visit! Needed emergency stitches and looked for a place open Labor Day. AFC Madison took a online appointment with a window for me to be seen. I was seen at the time given by a friendly, professional NP. The office staff was efficient, pleasant and I was on my way in 1 hour and 8 stitches!
I would give 0 stars if I could. If you go to this facility and Dr. Stephanie Gafford is the doctor, just leave. I got treated for asthmatic bronchitis 3 weeks ago from a different AFC… well I came to this one because my chest hurts from trying to get too many deep breaths in. I wanted to make sure the bronchitis cleared and to make sure I didn’t have pneumonia. I’ve had this issue before with my breathing, went to the ER and they told me everything was fine. I was just having panic issues. Anyways, this doctor didn’t listen. The minute she found out I have a history of smoking her whole temperament towards me changed. There had to be something wrong with me. She did a chest xray and blood work. The chest xray was clear so the doxy I was on cleared the bronchitis and no pneumonia.. everything was clear. My oxygen was 98% so no asthma issues. This is usually when doctors ask if you have anxiety. I’ve had a terrible year so yea, the anxiety is high and the panic is worse… nope. She starts belittling me talking about you’re allergic to this med, can’t take this med- so I called you in this. Then proceeds to throw her hands in the air, “this is your last option. If this doesn’t help, oh well.” So if everything was clear why was an antibiotic called in? THEN she starts lecturing me about the smoking again, belittling me and says, I’m sending you to a pulmonologist because you smoke.. why??? I’ve never had a doctor come at me the way she did. She just kept rolling her eyes at me. She treated me like I was an addict. Like I’m just trying to get pills? That was NOT the case. She basically taught me to just see my family doctor. He has NEVER come at me like this nor suggested a pulmonologist when everything was clear. If this doctor did her research or even asked questions, she’d know asthmatics are prone to bronchitis and it takes a minute to get your breathing re-regulated after bronchitis. I’m sure there are others out there who smoke and get bronchitis… it sucks, yes. And yes, the smoking calms down drastically when the bronchitis presents. This doctor is awful just awful. So belittling. Just stay far away. Learn from me. It’s not worth the frustration.
Over Thanksgiving what was just a bump under my eye, turned into cellulitis and it was spreading fast. My daughter insisted I go to an Urgent Care & this one was the only open one on Black Friday. There was a wait, which the practitioner apologized for at least three times. She looked at my face & told me it was a bad situation and she sent me home with two oral antibiotics & one cream antibiotic.I couldnt have asked for a kinder encounter.
Very easy self check in and no wait time. All nurses and staff were professional. I would definitely go to AFC again.
This medical facility is great and well-organized. That they can attend your medical needs and queries base on emergency cases or just for employment requirements.Hope they will open more franchise clinic within closer to our home vicinity.
Long wait although the NP and lady that took X-rays were great and thorough. Very pleased.i waited for X-ray results and called the next day 4 times left vm and spoke to receptionist for my results for chest X-ray and still have no results. That is disappointing and not sure if I would go back to this facility but I want to know if my ribs are broken and in a lot of pain and apparently that is unimportant to contact me in 24 hours to even give me my results. This is ridiculous and after paying for help and help they have no consideration for giving me the results. I would not recommend. This is beyond unprofessional. I won’t go back.
Eve and Mary Anne were awesome! Had a very smooth experience at the urgent care. They were so kind and friendly. Mary Anne answered any questions we had.
Staff was very thorough and knowledgeable. My visit was quick and efficient. Very thankful they are here serving our community!
This is the nicest Urgent Care I have visited. Staff was attentive and Dr. Gafford was excellent. Highly recommended.
Very good customer service. Everything goes faster when you make an appointment. Nurse practitioner is very good and a sweet person.
Dr. Mary Ann and nurse Bailey were both amazing. They were polite and very attentive. Will come again!
Staff was great from in processing, triage to CNRP. Had a great experience. Thank you for being open on a Sunday. Great experience when not feeling your best.
Being able to reserve a spot in advance is great. I was in and out in no time and was pleased at how pleasant everyone was.
American Family Care in Madison will get you right!!! You can’t beat same day appointments, streamlined check-in, and service with a smile. Not to mention, they actively listen…and hear you! They were extremely courteous , kind, and professional. Just trust their process! It’s definitely a good one!!!
New to the area this was my first time going here. Very friendly staff, and the Dr came in fairly quickly. I was in and out of here with little to no wait time on a weekend. Also thought it was pretty neat they use an app for check in, and you can see your place in line.
When You arent feeling well, this is the place to go. I went in with an ear infection. Staff was understanding of my pain and discomfort. They got me in and situated and it was a quick diagnosis. Most Drs just assume they know whats wrong or dont listen. These Drs do not. They listened to what I said and acted accordingly and thoroughly. I did not feel rushed. I am now on the mend and highly recommend them.
Actually an excellent place to go if youre not feeling well; however, one person can make it not such a good experience. When a NP asks you how long youve been on blood pressure meds and before you answer, under their breath they say probably forever, theyre stereotyping a race of people. Should never happen, especially from a so called medical provider. Lots of good caring staff members, just that one pickup
Lisa Gongora and NP Daniel Nailorwere ABSOLUTELY wonderful! Quick getting back, cracked a few jokes and were very professional. They’re awesome
Very thorough nurse practitioner. If you make an appointment on line, you will not wait long. Very satisfied with my visit and will return.
Everyone was very nice! The nurse practitioner Daniel was very attentive. He was the only provider there, but still did a great job and didn’t let it show!
The staff is always friendly and helpful! My son enjoys coming here more than his family doctor 😆 We were in and out in no time.
The staff here are amazing. I was in an emergency situation where no one would help me, but American Family Care Madison had no issue helping me. Everyone was friendly, quick, and efficient. Thanks again guys!
I realize you take a chance with any visit to an urgent care. You may see a competent provider or you may not. Unfortunately, my ill child was attended by a nurse practitioner who clearly needs more knowledge and experience before he cares for patients. I’ve worked in healthcare for almost 30 years and was stunned by his level of incompetence. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment for my child at our regular physician office the next day and he confirmed the absurdity of the diagnosis and “care” we encountered at American Family Care. He provided a reasonable diagnosis, prescribed appropriate meds and will conduct a follow up as needed. Honestly, nurse practitioners should be more closely supervised by qualified physicians and removed from seeing patients independently if there are red flags!
Was not triaged properly and had to wait an hour with glass stuck in my arm. When I was taken back, they didn’t seem to believe there was something lodged in it — they got 4 x-rays another hour and a half later. The doctor came in another 40 minutes after x-rays to tell me, yes, indeed there’s something lodged in there, but we won’t touch it you’ll have to go to the ER.I am normally one to be sympathetic with healthcare workers, in particular, but this was bad care beginning to end. If they had listened to the nature of my injury, I would have been seen much sooner. If they had believed there was something lodged in it, they should have said “we wouldn’t treat that anyways, go to the ER.” Before I paid $175 for, in the long run, a 3 hour delay to my care and a tetanus shot.
Went in for a sinus infection that had been lingering for about 6 weeks. I had seen two other doctors with no relief. This doctor was very compassionate and caring. She listened to me and knew exactly what was wrong. She prescribed medication and told me exactly what I needed to do. Within hours, I was feeling better than I had in weeks. Thank you!
Both Lisa RN and Dr. Mary were amazing and made my experience at the clinic wonderful despite feeling sick . Their demeanor and bedside kindness was just one of a kind! Please keep up the great work!
I came in at noon on a Saturday. I was told that the wait would be 2.5 hours when I was 25th in line (which pretty ambitiously estimates 6 minutes per patient.) At least I was allowed to leave and shop while I watched the countdown. Ultimately it took 4 hours, but staff was friendly and I eventually got the steroid I needed.
Fast, responsive, professional and friendly. My hand was smashed in a door. They patched me up, took x-rays, and stitched up the wound. I felt very comfortable and relaxed with everyone as they helped me.
I am new to the area, and I needed to have blood work completed, everyone at American family care was super nice!! The provider Mary Ann was very sweet and friendly! Lisa was amazing at drawing blood, no pain whatsoever. Front desk was awesome. No complaints! It was a great experience! Definitely going back.
Customer service was very excellent, and the service of time was excellent. The doctor was extremely helpful and knowledgeable
Lisa was very kind and helpful and MaryAnn, NP was extremely knowledgeable and got my daughter feeling better quickly.
Mary Ann was amazing. She was caring and very professional. Highly recommend AFC.
I was impressed that they were able to do tests like EKG, blood pressure test and blood work where I got the results right away, except for 2 test for thyroid and electrolytes had to be sent out. The Nurse Practitioner was very thorough with her examination.
I was beyond impressed with the care I received here! Scheduling an appointment was easy, and staff were very professional. But the real call out was the clinical care I received!! CRNP Mary Ann Randel was incredibly thorough and compassionate. She ran blood work and a serious of rapid tests. She expressed concern, without alarm, over elevated levels in blood work, and wanted to ensure that we quickly addressed not only this issue, but also my level of discomfort. She and the nurse, Bailey, worked together seamlessly. They communicated well with both each other and me, and were genuinely kindhearted caregivers. I highly recommend AFC Madison!!!
The provider was good. Made an appointment online with Clockwise and was told at arrival they dont use that system anymore. So dont use that one. Go to the website instead.
They took care of me quickly and efficiently. They made sure I was very safe, they were so polite and generous with their time. I won’t hesitate to go back again.
Lisa Gongora was great with me and my tiny veins! I didn’t even realize she was getting the blood she needed until it was all over.So kind and listened to me before we even started. Thanks Lisa for a great experience!
Very disappointed. I have been to this facility many times and always received good care. I’ve been to AFC for a chronic issue that I’m having and there has never been a problem. Well, the last 2 times that I have been there, I was seen by Daniel Nailor, CRNP. He told me today that I will not be treated if I come back for the same issue and that I need to see my regular physician. I told him that I have an appointment but it’s a few months away. He told me that I need to get another doctor. Then preceded to tell me other alternatives to help with my issue. I tried to explain to him my history but he was VERY DISMISSIVE and I felt DISRESPECTED. If he would have listened, maybe he would’ve gotten a better understanding. He made me feel like I was asking for narcotics….which was not the case.
5 people in front of me when I checked in, 1.5 hours later there were still 3 people in front of me. A different urgent care close by got me back in 10 minutes
Mary Ann and Lisa - helped me so much, very patient and thoughtful! Mary Ann took the time to get to understand my concerns, talk through all the options for treatment, and answer my questions. 10/10 would recommend.
Checked in online only had to wait little over an hour, they were prompt and sent me on my and called with results so I wouldnt have to wait. Excellent service and xrays can be done on site.
Very good experience. Staff and doctor very friendly, knowledgeable, and proficient. Waiting time was excellent and prompt. I highly recommend this entity.
Lisa and Mary-Ann were fabulous and so caring and quick. Will definitely visit again.
Alexis and Ollie were phenomenal help at the front desk!!! Our NP was equally phenomenal; she listened to our needs and fulfilled each one. GO TO THIS AFC!!!
I was extremely pleased with my visit the time that the physician took to explain my condition was quite helpful. Doctor patient communications is extremely important. I appreciate the way this was handled.
Lisa was very sweet greeting me! Schonna was great and explained everything very well. Everyone was super nice and polite and seems like they enjoy their time working here!
This is the best place to go if you need help. I have been so sick for the last month. Each time I go they make sure the find out what’s going on with me. I appreciate them so much. Thank you all so much. They are so kind and helpful. I thank God for AFC.
Got us in super quick and we were in and out for the sports physical. Only complaint was that when I scheduled the appt I asked if they took insurance and they said yes, however upon arrival they told me they did not take insurance and I had to pay for the appt. That kind of miscommunication is a bummer.
I paid a 100$ more for a dot physical then what the average in Alabama is charged. My company is not paying for it. So I had to pay myself. I have 4 daughters and thats taking money I need for them away. And I dont appreciate being charged that much for a minimal visit.
Lisa Gongora was amazingTook care of me, treated me very well like I was home love this gal she is so sweet and adorable..
Have always had a great experience with this location. I highly recommend. As someone who works in Customer relations, their front staffing personnel, could be more friendly. Just saying ....
We made an appointment and got seen very close to that time. It was clean and well organized. The staff was friendly.
The reception and check-in process were superb. I was staying half mile away and they allowed me to run back there (by car) and get my insurance card and I kept my same check-in time.
AFC Madison is staffed with calm and considerate professionals. After an efficient check-in, I was expertly assessed by Phoua and Etheridge. Everyone took their time to ensure all issues were addressed and directions understood. I am in good hands using them as my primary care team.
Service was faster than other urgent cares that I have been to. I like the use of digital technology, complete paperwork via phone link and the virtual wait list queue. The NP came back quick and they sent my prescription to the pharmacy immediately. Total wait time was approximately 1.5 hour.
I went to the clinic right after work I arrived 10mins till closing and I was very pleased and shocked with how ALL the staff were so nice and pleasant. Great job!
Excellent customer service and kind and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to get is in at the end of the night. Awesome team!
They have a nice system and the doctor was thorough and nice. My only complaint was that I had to pay a copay even though they say they are in the Optum Urgent Care Network for the VA.
Soooooooooo slow!! #9 in line to just get a steroid shot for poison ivy.. I’m writing this as I wait.. checked in at 9:22 and it is 11:35 !! Still waiting.. this is just so ridiculous!! I’ve been here before and it has never takin this long for something that should’ve been takin care of in no time.. I understand having to wait your turn but this is unacceptable
The appointment was good. The doctor was so nice and very professional. I will definitely go back if needed.
I regret to say that my experience with this doctor’s office has been extremely disappointing. The lack of professionalism and lack of communication is unacceptable. The staffs communication is severely lacking. Messages and calls often end in “ We will call you back” and then nobody calls back or they call back 8-10 hours later. We were told to get OBGYN approval for a specific medication. Once My wife received OBGYN approval for a specific medication, the clinic waited until the OBGYN was closed before calling us back and stating they won’t prescribe it and to reach out to the OBGYN. Why even ask for us to get approval if they knew they wouldn’t prescribe it in the first place? I also had some lab work done and still haven’t received a call back with the results and it’s been months.Overall, I cannot recommend this doctor’s office. The consistent underperformance and poor communication make it a highly frustrating and unreliable choice for healthcare.
I was there for over thirty minutes before they called the first patient back and that was just to get vitals. They told the patient that he would have to return to the waiting room until a room was ready. That isnt too unusual, but no one else was called for another twenty minutes and patients were checking out. I left and went to a different urgent care.
What an awesome experience, although we were in attendance due to my little one’s illness! Shelby and Bailey made the time spent in American Family Care Medical Center 🏥 an effective and expeditious one. The interactions with my kids were very pleasant and easing, as well. Thanks, AFC!-A Grateful Father
Had a wonderful experience at AFC yesterday. My needs/ concerns were addressed by Mary Ann. I got there just before 6 n I was out in maybe 15-20 minutes. I am feeling much better already. I even have a note for today off. The facility was quite clean and they were efficient and pleasant as always. Jay signed me in with ease. Ms Ollie was a sweet heart.
Mary Ann the nurse practitioner and Beth have been amazing. Super friendly staff, made sure my concerns were addressed, and went the extra mile to make sure I had everything Id need to take care of myself and when I should come back in or go to the ER if my condition gets worse. Would totally recommend coming to this one! 10/10
This was my second time visiting AFC and I don’t like to leave bad reviews but I must. I tested positive for Covid at home the day before I came, and after 3 hours of waiting they finally took me back to a room where I waited some more. A nurse came in, swabbed each of my nostrils maybe once or twice, left, and then 15-20 minutes later came back to tell me I tested negative when I’ve had all the symptoms of Covid. They couldn’t tell me exactly what that meant but prescribed me stuff for congestion anyways. I knew I had Covid, so I went home and took another at home test, which I tested positive for. Overall, I know they are a busy center, but making sure procedures such as Covid testing are done properly are very important. Also striving to make sure you know what’s wrong with a patient before they leave your office is also very important as well.
Went with an animal bite. Nurse practitioner insisted I go to ER because of possibility of rabies. Would not give me the antibiotic that I needed. Said the ER would do it. As it turns out after four hours at the ER, it was stated that a squirrel bite does not require rabies Vaccine. Had your facility done any research They would know that. Then I would not have wasted four hours at the ER.
Highly disappointed with the check in process. Unacceptable to have to check in on a phone or at all yourself when you are not feeling well. What do the clerks do? All auto ation is not good automation. My BP was high and it was disregarded and they said that the system was not working. You are in a Medical facility where Care is the premise and I was not treated with care for my concerns. Unacceptable and concerning.Everything isnt meant to be automated. When you arent feeling well that creates issues.
They told me it was a 2 hour wait. I waited 4 hours to get medicine to relieve my migraines I’ve been having for over a week. Once I finally saw the nurse practitioner, he prescribed me cough medicine when I came in for migraines. I asked for a steroid pack because my headache lasted for over 3 hours that morning and he denied my request. Don’t waste your time going here.
Lisa and Shonna were absolutely amazing. Made my visit super quick and easy. Definitely will come back here for all urgent care needs :)
Lisa was quick, kind, and very professional. She made us feel welcomed and got us in and out with no problem.
Quick service from front staff. Shelby smith NP was rude and condescending. She treated me as if I was there seeking something I shouldn’t have been. I was seeking paxlovid for Covid. I tested at home and was positive in less than a minute. It was Friday evening and I knew that I needed to get what I needed before the weekend. Her paperwork says “if you aren’t better in 3 days then return to them”. Ha ha! When I asked her what I should do if I don’t get better, she said in her very hateful tone to go to the ER and “yes that will be an all day ER waiting room experience “. She let me know that she knew this because she had worked at one of the local hospital ER. I am a 30 year veteran nurse but never worked ER and I think I know how homeless people and people who are just feeling very sick and down feel when they’re treated poorly by the healthcare community. This girl needs a lesson in compassion & sympathy. I don’t know what her “preconceived “ thoughts of me were. But she definitely had some and there’s no place for that in healthcare! It’s scary what our healthcare system is now ! Go to bed tonight Shelby and think long and hard about how you talk to people, your tone and your overall presentation and how it will make people feel. And don’t say!! “I don’t care how people feel”. Life lessons
I went in, thinking, I fractured or sprained my forearm on the top of my arm. The staff was very friendly, but I will say it does not go as fast as you would think it would for an urgent care. If I had something that was broken I would probably go there. They got me in pretty fast if you want me to be honest, but I was there for almost 2 1/2 hours.
Lisa Gongora is awesome does a tremendous Job you will definitely like her and mary ann was amazing as well.
MARY ANN RANDEL & Mrs. LISA , was a very good help today , they was working at a great fast pace . I really recommend coming here for a physical , check up , etc . THANK YOU GUYS for providing me with great service today !!
The entire staff from the front desk to the triage nurses was outstanding. And Mary Ann the nurse practitioner was amazing; she was attentive, professional and listened to me. I felt like a patient instead of a number. Well done by the entire staff.
Lisa was great!! Had me in and out in no time and was super friendly! 10/10 would like to have Lisa agin!
I had a wonderful visit at Madisons AFCI went in for severe foot pain that had been holding me back as a mom for about 6 weeks. My nurse helped explain things to me thoroughly and was in full support for giving me options and letting me pick how I wanted things to go with my injury. They exceeded my price expectation, I was able to be seen, get two shots, an x-ray, and a prescription for just over $300 which is cheaper than 1 month on most insurance policies. They helped to baby sit my 1 year old with a positive attitude so that i could attend the x-ray. The care I received from everyone was a blessing, and is already helping to reduce my pain levels and discomfort at home.
Lisa was fantastic ! She was able to find my tricky veins in one punch shout out to Lisa. The rest of the staff was very kind too
This facility is amazing!! From the front desk staff who helped me ahead of time to make sure insurance was covered... To the nurse and provider. I came with a specific problem not expecting a nurse practitioner or PA to have in-depth knowledge about, but P.A. Smith absolutely wowed me with how detailed, educated and trained she was in my specific needs. Not just that, she took all the time we needed to discuss all aspects and options. Im VERY IMPRESSED. My Mom recommended and now Im recommending it.
Mary Ann & Bailey were great ! I usually dont even do hospitals in general but they made my experience very comfortable here. Thank you for treating me!
I went in for a severe upper respiratory infection on July 19, 2024 and saw Dr Hall. She was great and gave me 3 prescriptions to help with the sickness. I was prescribed a cough syrup to help with the burning productive cough and started taking it as directed by the doctor that morning after the visit. It was 10mL every 6 hours for 7 days. Clearly written on the bottle and the sheets they sent me home with. After about a day and a half, I was already through half the bottle, which made sense because the bottle only held 140 mL (140/10/4). I assumed it would be no problem to call and ask for a refill since this one bottle would not get me through the 7 days that was directed. I was wrong. A woman called me back, who clearly had very little medical knowledge as she could not even pronounce the medication correctly, and essentially accused me of overusing/abusing the medication because pseudoephedrine is used in narcotics. Seriously? I actually laughed. I am a young woman home from college just needing help with this painful, treacherous cough. The lady then cut me off, put me on hold, and transferred me to the nurses line. I was accused again of overusing the medicine even though I had clearly stated I was using it as directed by Dr. Hall. She told me to buy over-the-counter cough medicine and said there was nothing the Dr. on call that day could do for me. Absolutely horrible. I hung up the phone feeling defeated and offended. I will not be visiting AFC in Madison any longer.
My name is Tameka McMillan and I had to attend AFC for a DOT physical. The staff here is really amazing. I went in for my visit and it was completed in a timely manner and everyone was so nice. Thank you, AFC staff.
I appreciate the process to check in and fill paperwork is digital. I was a walk in on a busy day so it was a bit of a wait, but Erin Burress NP was amazing, patient and listens. Had to do a blood draw and Kornelia is the one person in the last 10 years of my life from any lab or clinical facility that took less than 5 sticks to draw blood. It took her only one try!!!!! The previous woman here took 3 which is still better than some of my past experiences elsewhere. I hope everyone has as good an experience as my first time experience here.
Lisa and Maryann took great care of me today! They’re so sweet and caring here. ❤️🩹
Ollie at the front desk was super sweet. Lisa and Maryann did a wonderful job in the back....kind and very knowledgeable.
Had a little of an issue during checkin. The person continued reading from his phone as I stood patiently waiting. However, the other desk person more than went out of her way to complete my registration. I had excellent care during my visit.
The ladies up front were very nice, friendly and helpful. The people in the back were very professional.
Save the day for a medicine refill that my primary couldn’t do! 11 people waiting on a walk in went quicker than I expected. Thank you
I live with a chronic illness and so Im often anxious with providers. Every person I encountered today was warm, friendly and compassionate.
Lisa was so kind and comforting in my time of crisis! So thankful for her
Long wait time but friendly staff. Mary Randel did a great job being friendly and helping me with my diagnosis ❤️
I did the service provided on their website that lets you setup an appointment time beforehand. At first after setting up my appointment online. I didnt realize that I had set it for virtual which was not my intentions, however I received a call very promptly for my virtual appointment. She asked me if I had wanted to do a virtual appt or if it was set by mistake. Im glad she asked which I loved because of course I did mistakenly set that appointment. She informed me how to go back and set for in person appointment. Once I arrived I only waited maybe 5 mins maybe and then I was able to be seen. The nurse practitioner was great! I loved how welcoming she was and very friendly, which unfortunately at places isnt always the case anywhere anymore these days. I would like to finally thank everyone working with us today!!! They made my day much more pleasant with their understanding and efficiency!! Highly recommend them!!!
I went into American Family Care Madisin, AL feeling pretty awful with a sinuse infection and related issues. EVERY person I encountered at this office, from reception throughout the visit was so caring, helpful and attuned to my discomfort. AFC will absolutely be my choice if needed in the future.
Their front receptionist was very negative and had a piss poor attitude. I called to come in and get a pre employment drug test and he told me they cut off at 5 pm. I was in front of his window just before five and he would even acknowledge me standing there. At 5:02 the other receptionist said she would go back and see if they would do it and he was shaking his head no. Then said he told me they shut down at 5 with attitudesI’ve been here before and it was very unorganized. Stay away the other AFC are by far better and friendlier.
Appointments don’t guarantee anything. Waited over 2 hours after my appointment time and had to ask multiple times for updates. After my kid hacked a lung out and finally threw up they finally took us back. One person sitting at a desk eating candy, and another just sitting at a computer scrolling on her phone.
They show genuine care for their patients. Even though they had a lot of patients, when they call me in they focus on me and my concerns. I recommend this urgent care for everyone.
I visited for back pain from an accident as well as a broken large toe. I was given the medicine for my healing but not for my sharp pain. I begged for meds for a week but was denied twice. It is unacceptable allowing a patient to suffer debilitating pain which affects his work and daily functioning. Won’t go back.
American Family Urgent Care in Madison by Hwy 72 is highly recommendable. All staff are pleasant, friendly, and know exactly what theyre doing.I was so impressed with the friendliness, courteousness, and the care of each and every staff during my visit on July 24th. Thank you for making me feel comfortable. A big shout out to my Nurse, Heather!
I went in on Sunday, waited 4 hrs but didnt get seen. Went back Monday with appointment at 1150, got seen at 1400. Office full. Everyone was nice, good care, but extremely slow going, only one CRNP on premises and one Intake person. Need more Employees to care for the patients.
Lisa did great getting my blood work and she’s a pro! Caring nice
Lisa gongora 50,000 stars was amazing I feel like I can be best buddies with them her love it
The staff were attentive. I didnt have to wait long. The Doctor that saw me was professional, listened well and didnt rush me. (I cant remember her name) Even checked my blood pressure a second time because I have medical anxiety. Overall good experience.
Got checked in very quickly and smoothly and saw NP Mary Ann. She did awesome— Very personable, smart, fast, and great suggestions on how to address my issues. Have been to AFC several times in the past, and remain impressed and would go back again. Thank you –--we really appreciate you all!!
They were very good with my son really acted like they care bout his well being will be going back to them for all our health needs
This was my first time to visit AFC Madison. They were highly recommended by a friend. I was suffering with a tooth abscess without any medication and it was a holiday weekend. I was uncertain if they would see me for a dental issue. However, I was seen and examined, and was prescribed an antibiotic. The staff was helpful and efficient. The NP was very professional and knowledgeable. She listened to me thoroughly and showed genuine care. I am very grateful for the care that I received on such short notice.
New in town, so I visited AFC for care. I had to wait maybe 30 min to see a doctor, but was grateful to get in. They ran some tests and gave me a prescription. Very pleased with the quality of care.
Don’t bother, go somewhere else. They made me pay 15$ for a copay. Normally that’s no big deal but they only explained it was for a copay on insurance after it was paid after I explicitly asked them to do self pay. Then they wanted to go ahead and charge me another 85$ to have 3 lines on a form filled out and signed for university. They made me wait an hour and a half despite only having one other patient in the whole building. After wasting that time, I told them I was unwilling to pay 85 for nothing and after 15 more minutes they gave me the 15 back. I did not even need any vaccinations, they just referenced my blue card, and the staff kept looking at me like I was an idiot for needing this. Everywhere else I have done it (for university or employers) did it without charging me and had far nicer staff.
Gave my paperwork to another patient while I was still in the waiting room. Didn’t even have the audacity to apologize. Terrible. Won’t be back.
Eve and Maryanne took care of me today, they did a very good job. My visit was great and I was taken care of in a timely manner and I was glad for that. Good job. Not Even, treated like I couldnt pay for the services I needed.
This place is amazing! One of my coworkers recommended I come here and I’m so grateful I listened. Eve was wonderful. She’s the first person I encountered and she really went out of her way to make me comfortable. The nurse practitioner Maryanne was very thorough and thought outside the box. She made sure I was leaving feeling better than I came in. Highly recommend! ❤️
Excellence from the moment I entered until the moment I left. Receptionists are fast and very efficient. Waiting time in the room until they call you super fast. When they treat you you can see the desire to help you as best as possible and the nurses assistant is very professional. The only negative point is that they now have a pharmacy. Thanks 10/10.
They staff at the Madison location were great. I arrived around 12:50pm and was seen by the doctor 20 minutes after arriving and registering. They were short staffed but they were very organized. I had an x-ray on my left foot and I found out I broke my pinky toe 😞. After that they sent me to TOC to see another doctor and to get a boot.
Pretty good experience, very friendly. Worked well and fast too very helpful. Solid 5 stars👍
CPNP Daniel Nailor was attentive despite being short staffed. He paid attention to my symptoms and provided what was needed to get me back on track to feeling well. Im feeling much better on day two. The whole staff did a good job. I have no complaints. Thanks!! Highly recommended
They were helpful and took tests for possible issues. The tests were negative but was given suggestions on what to do for my sore throat.
Outstanding service from the registration to check in forms the pressure check and the doctor. I felt that they care and treated me with respect and genuine concern for my wellbeing. Thank you so much.
I was in HSV visiting from PA and began to experience flu-like symptoms. Arrived at AFC and was greeted courteously by the receptionist. I followed his instruction to accept his email on my phone to complete the required registration. I was notified by phone that I would be the next third person to be seen. I received quality and friendly care and service from the nurse and doctor on call. I highly recommend AFC to anyone seeking urgent care.
Was seen within an hour and actual visit lasted about 30 minutes. Was very satisfied with the doctor and staff. Definitely recommend
Great place to get checked out quickly. Went in on Memorial Day with a sinus infection and Daniel and his staff took great care of me. Left with a steroid shot, antibiotics and Flonase prescriptions. Feeling much better today!
Lisa and MaryAnn are so polite. They are attentive and very patient. The service is top tier.
As usual fantastic service and a fantastic team from the reception desk, medical assistants, and the nurse practitioner Daniel Nailor.
Lisa Gongora was very nice, the shot didn’t hurt & I got a sticker and a lollipop
The doctor was very nice and diagnosed me and gave me antibiotics. The front desk staff was also super nice. My only complaint was the time to see a doctor took two hours.
Lisa and Maryann was awesome and made my visit extremely pleasant.
After signing in, I waited approximately 30 minutes and was seen, temp, heart rate, weight and blood oxygen measured and moved to exam room. Brief wait less than 5 min. before the Nurse Practitioner checked me over and got my symptom history (for worsening cough x 2 weeks). Very straightforward, easy to talk to and then he was gone and a nurse brought me prescriptions info and headed me out the door. Under an hour with no appointment; just what I needed!
Eve did a great job, got my EKG set up easy as 123. Short waiting time, clear communication from doctors and staff.
The nurse was very caring and took care of me and my grandson in a timely manner
Lisa Gonzora and Mary Ann Randle were excellent. Very nice and caring and most of all very thorough.
Melissa, Blake, Shanika, Ally and Gabe were all so nice, professional and caring. They addressed all my issues and explained everything fully. They were so helpful, I will be back!
We had a good first time visit here. The place was clean and inviting. The front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. And Eve and Erin were hilarious and made you feel comfortable. Shout out to whoever gave my daughter the shot! You handled that so well! Overall, we would recommend this place!
Maryanne is amazing! I work in an urgent care and come to AFC just for her. The Madison,AL location has some great staff. I love that they take their time, explain everything clearly and don’t rush you out the door.
Dr Daniels was simply amazing. He exhibits a wonderful bedside manner. I will ask to see him again and will certainly refer him to others. He even called at the end of the day to make sure thar I was OK. The overall experience was good. Bur Dr. DANIELS was the icing on the cake. Thank you Doctor Daniels.
I had an appointment date to be at this facility. As a World Trade Center survivor I need to get check ups. This facility is signed up to be part of the WTC program to do workups for WTC survivors. I immediately realized that the front desk workers were not aware of the procedures. So, I contacted Ms.Nicole from WTC program who then contacted American Family Care MADISON, AL, and went through the process with them, faxed information, and spoke to the director directly. The director assured Miss Nicole that they are equipped with the equipments needed to do my medical checkup and that I will definitely be seen.(Side note) it took me this long to sign up for this program, because my mind rehashes 911 and I get extremely emotional and depressed and put the paperwork aside. I finally build up the nerve to finish the paperwork to get a check up.(back to review)The secretary filled out the information for my registration given to her by Ms.Nicole from WTC program. Everything seemed ok, I was taken into a room and was ready for my check up when someone came in and basically told me, I cannot be seen there, its better for my doctor to do it because they do not have the equipment, and their facility do not do what is required. SO I WAS SENT AWAY WITHOUT BEING SEEN.I called back Ms. Nicole from WTC program she was not pleased at all with what she was hearing . She got on it right away and is trying to get me another appointment ASAP. The other facility that she contacted was so nice that their director said, they did not have an equipment that is needed, but because of what I have been through she will try her best to get it from somewhere else. Both the director from the other facility and Ms.Nicole apologized for what happened.I am thankful to Ms. Nicole. She made me feel comfortable to express my feelings, I was emotional to say the least, and she kept me calm and went through every step that she did and will continue to do. Thank you.AFC Madison, in AL. did not act professionally and should not have accepted me if they couldnt perform. The director was told whats needed and she made that assurance and fell through.I would put 0 stars but thats not an option.UPDATE on AFC Madison.I did receive calls from everyone. Apologies were accepted and Nycole from AFC Madison said that she learned about the machine after receiving it so she was confident in using it and would love the opportunity for a do over. I was already scheduled for AFC Hampton so I went through with them and had a great experience. Thanks to all staff that reached out to me with apologies it made a difference.
Check in was easy, seen rather quickly and the staff was friendly and compassionate. It is a great place.
Fast and easy. You can check in ahead from their App or website to save a lot of time. Good service overall.
Lisa and Maryann were great awesome!! Excellent great bedside manners easy to get along with on point!!!! Friendly understanding all that!!!
Staff was great as was the provider! First time there will be back if I need medical care!
I was skipped over multiple times for people that i had been there long before. My wait was over 2 hrs. Because of that. I had to speak up to get service.
Excellent service and everyone had beautiful personalities
From the moment I walked in, I was treated with kindness and professionalism. Eve greeted me with a warm smile, setting a positive tone for my visit. Theresa efficiently took care of my labs, ensuring everything went smoothly. And Kayla, the nurse practitioner, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also so sweet. All of them took the time to answer every question I had and handled me with utmost care. Its such a pleasure to encounter a team that genuinely cares for their patients. Thank you!
The staff at AFC is always polite and helpful. I have always been seen in a timely manner, and my concerns are always taken seriously.
Folks were friendly, listened to my issues and for a walking clinic I was seen reasonably fast
Oh my goodness, they were very efficient, professional and sweet!!! I made an online appointment set for 4:00, received reminder text at 3:40. Got there, checked in, waited around 5 minutes and was called back. The sweet nurse who took my vitals was very pleasant. Mary NP, was simply amazing, evaluated my issue and prescribed medications. Was there around 45 minutes!! I actually give them a 4.75 Star Rating. Will definitely go back there again for a quick visit. Key is making an online appointment with specified appointment time.Thank you so much!! R. Good☺️
The staff is so friendly and really work hard to get patience in and out as fast as possible while also taking their time to ensure each patience’s needs are met. I always feel heard and respected. Thank you to all the staff and doctors at the clinic. It’s because of teams like yours that make people want to come back when they need a doctor.
I went in to get checked out been sick for almost 3 weeks . When i say Lisa and Mary Ann was awesome . They are awesome. Never felt more comfortable in a medical facility. They are so kind and sweet . They listen to their patients. Highly recommend coming here for any medical help .
The entire staff was great. friendly, fast and accommodating! The CRNP’s Erin and Mary Ann were top notch professionals. In-out and on my way to feeling better!! Thank you one and all!!
