I’ve been a patient at Alium for two years, where I’ve received talk therapy, Sparvato, psychiatric medicine, and case management. The people are all very nice, but they’re incapable of providing effective treatment. My symptoms have progressively gotten worse while engaged in Alium’s care. They lack resources to help you make meaningful changes and instead opt for hospitalization. If you’re looking to be hospitalized involuntarily over and over and repeatedly discharged into the exact same situation that got you hospitalized in the first place, this is your clinic.

A horrible experience! My wife was having weekly Spravato treatment for several years. She had been going to Alium for the last two winters at the Ironwood and Mesa locations with great success; the professionals there were like friends. This October she started at the new Scottsdale office. The first visit was with the nurse practitioner who was very professional. His medical assistant was being trained. The next two visits were with medical assistants, Cheyenne and Keke, who dispensed the medication and took three blood pressures over 2 hours. That was the extent of their interaction. After the third visit she was essentially CANCELLED by these two young women. She was accused of making statements that she didn’t make and would have never made! These were lies, pure and simple. Discussion with CEO, Andrew Elliott revealed that he was most concerned with possible liability from an unhappy employee, not my wife’s mental health. My wife went to Alium for compassionate mental health care and only received lies and fear of liability! My wife has found a new caring provider but the emotional pain still lingers.

I am beyond disappointed in the lack of customer service that I have received from Alium Health. I saw a provider back in 2023 who is no longer with this practice. First...I was never notified that my primary care provider (Allison Cimler, NP) was no longer going to be with the practice. When I called, the staff member who answered the phone was completely unhelpful. I called to make an appointment with the provider I had seen in the past, and was told that she just started and had never heard of this provider. When I asked her to look at my chart, she said, well, we sent you a discharge notice on January 24, 2024. I asked if she could tell me where it was sent to, and she said she didnt know and had no way of determining where it was sent. I asked her, well, was it sent certified or do you have anything showing proof of receipt, and she said no. I asked her to look in my chart again because I saw several providers within their group and I believed the discharge to be related to my discontinuation of care with Pamela Hicks-Ryan (the therapist), not Allison Cimler who was my acting PCP. She said, Oh, ok. And so I asked her if she could see previous records of my visits with Allison Cimler, and she said, Well, yes, do you need something? I asked her if she knew where NP Cimler went, and she said, No. I cant help you. When I asked her if they even still offered primary care services, she said, Well, were starting primary care back up next Month. I confirmed with her that her response meant that they currently werent offering primary care services. And she confirmed. Working in the healthcare realm in private practice, it is customary to reach out to all patients when a provider leaves. The practice is still responsible providing a means of continuity of care for the patient, and Alium Health has failed in its responsibility.
